Dora and Boots are in the middle of a dance. Dora wears a long princess gown and a tall cone-shaped hat with a small flower on the front, and a curly swirl of fabric trails behind. One arm waves high while she holds Boots' hand with the other and smiles wide. Boots hops along next to her with an outstretched arm, and you can see his curly tail and big sneakers. The gown has a beaded necklace, a criss-cross patterned bodice and flowing sleeves, so small hands get plenty of detail to work on. There's no background, which keeps the page uncluttered. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big pink gown and the pink sleeves with rose pink, leaving the lace trim and the small gap near the arm white.
- 2Fill Dora's hair and the pointed hat with chocolate brown, then add the golden yellow band around the hat.
- 3Color Dora's face, neck, and hands with peach orange, and use hot pink for her open mouth.
- 4Paint the monkey's body with pale yellow and his arms, legs, and head tuft with slate blue, keeping his chest and leg highlights white.
- 5Add bright red and striped shoes to the monkey and lavender purple shoes to Dora, then color the monkey's face and muzzle with pale tan.
- 6Optional: Add darker shading to the hat and the gown folds, and leave the hair curls and background white for a clean finish.
