A smiling puppy and a happy kitten sit together in the grass, ready for some Valentine's Day coloring. The puppy has floppy ears, a collar and a curled tail, and he holds a daisy-style flower in one paw. The kitten wears a bow on her head and has long whiskers and a curved tail. A big heart-shaped balloon with a shiny highlight floats above them, its string running down behind the puppy. Small flowers and grass tufts fill the ground along the bottom. Large shapes and clean lines work for younger kids with chunky crayons, and older kids can add detail. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the heart balloon bright red, leaving the small shine near its top left white, and fill the balloon string knot red too.
- 2Fill the puppy's head, body, chest, hind leg, tail and front leg with caramel tan, then use light cream for its paws and the paw holding the flower.
- 3Color the kitten's head, body, tail, arm and cheeks cool gray, leaving the white muzzle highlight and the fur on its chest white.
- 4Paint the puppy's collar royal blue, the kitten's bow and nose soft pink, the puppy's tongue soft pink, and the inner part of the kitten's ear blush pink.
- 5Fill the flower center golden yellow and color the flower leaves caramel tan, keeping the flower petals white.
- 6Optional: Add soft pale gray shading under the kitten's face and along its body to give it a little depth.
