Here's a playful twist on the mummy costume: a happy puppy in striped bandage strips trots over the grass with a round ball in its mouth. Bandages wind around its head, body, legs and tail, but the floppy ears, big shiny eyes and little round nose are left bare. A leafy tree stands on the left, a wooden park bench on the right, and there's a small bush plus a few tufts of grass scattered around. Wide bands and big open shapes suit younger kids, and the ball and bench give older kids a little detail to enjoy. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color all the mummy bandages wrapped around the head, body, legs and tail with cream, leaving the thin outlines clear.
- 2Fill the puppy's face, tuft of hair, and bench slats with light tan, then add warm brown to the ears, paws and tail.
- 3Color the ball with coral red on one half and sky blue on the other, with the stripe running around its middle.
- 4Add forest green to the grass tufts and the small tree bush, and lime green to the shrub behind the tail; make the bench legs steel gray.
- 5Leave the eye whites, the shine spots and the park background white so the puppy looks lively.
- 6Optional: add a little darker warm brown along the inside of the ears and under the paws for a bit of depth.
