A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: color the grass-like table top and table front in leaf green, then fill the gift boxes at the bottom and sides with sky blue, soft purple, and bright red, leaving the cake frosting white.
- 2Color the puppy's face, ears, and body in tan, and shade the wooden wall and shelf behind with caramel brown. Keep the eye whites, nose highlight, and whisker area white.
- 3Fill the cake tiers with rose pink on the top and middle, and use baby blue on the lower tier. Leave the white cream borders and polka dots on the cake white or add small dots.
- 4Color the party hat in sky blue with rose pink dots and bright red trim at the bottom, then add a golden yellow pom-pom. Use golden yellow for the balloon on the left and the gift ribbons.
- 5Finish the balloons and streamers: sky blue, rose pink, leaf green, and golden yellow balloons with white shine spots, then color the small cream puppy beside the cake. Optional: Add a slightly darker tan shadow on the puppy's chest for depth.
