Rainy Day Dog in a Raincoat Splashing Puddles
Coloring guide
A fluffy puppy in a hooded raincoat jumps through a puddle, with water splashing around both front paws and ripples spreading out. Its mouth is wide open in a big smile, tongue hanging out, and its tail kicks up behind. The raincoat has buttons, a pocket and drawstrings at the collar. Rain falls from puffy clouds over a row of houses with chimneys and a picket fence. On the right stands a street lamp, with an open umbrella resting on the ground close by, and daisy-style flowers fill the bottom left corner. The page has lots of small areas for practice plus a few bigger ones for little hands. A bright yellow raincoat will really stand out against soft blue puddles and rain clouds. It makes an easy rainy-day activity at home or at school. This fits right in with our Dogs coloring pages — see also Dinosaurs and Frog.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the raincoat and hood bright yellow, including the pocket flaps and buttons area, leaving the little shine spots white.
- 2Fill the dog's head, ears, tail, legs and paws with golden tan, keeping the eyes and nose uncolored for contrast.
- 3Color the tongue coral pink and the umbrella bright blue, then paint the trees and bushes leaf green and the fence and middle house pale blue.
- 4Fill the puddles and water splashes with soft aqua blue and sky blue, and color the ground, sidewalk and gray cloud with light gray.
- 5Finish the house windows with cream and the lamp post with slate gray, then leave the splash highlights and fence tops white. Optional: add a darker golden tan line along the dog's fur edges for depth.
