Roaring Lizard From the Spider-Man Stories

Coloring guide
The Lizard, a reptile villain from the Spider-Man stories, crouches low here with a snarl and one big clawed hand swung forward. His mouth is wide open and full of sharp teeth, and a pointed spike sticks up from his head. A jagged ridge runs down his neck and chest. Behind him, his long tail curls into a big spiral, and ragged, torn bits of clothing hang at his hip and knee. With no background, your child can zero in on the creature. The wide scaly shapes and the spiral tail are easy to fill in, while the teeth and claws give older kids small details to tackle. Swamp greens work for the skin, light yellow-green for the belly, and dark purple for the tattered clothes. Print the free PDF at home, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the large green areas: fill the main body, arms, legs, head and tail with grass green, leaving the striped mane and the tail loop gap white.
- 2Color the pale yellow belly, chest, lower jaw and underside of the tail and right foot, keeping the claws and foot highlights white.
- 3Add the light green on the top of the snout and the khaki neck, then use light gray for the cheek and inside the mouth.
- 4Fill the tongue with rose pink and the mouth interior with dark red, leaving the teeth white.
- 5Use tan and brown for the patches on the arm and belly, and dark brown for the spiky ridge on the back of the head.
- 6Optional: Add darker olive shading on the ear and the wrist to give the lizard more depth.
