Roaring Male Lion on a Rock at Sunset on the African Savanna
Coloring guide
Standing tall on a large cracked rock, this full-maned male lion roars with his mouth wide open, his fluffy-tipped tail hanging down behind him. The African savanna spreads out beyond him. There's a flat-topped acacia tree, a mother elephant with her calf, two giraffes, and two zebras grazing near a winding stream. A big round sun sits low on the horizon, with puffy clouds and a few birds overhead, while grass tufts and leafy bushes fill the foreground. That thick, swirly mane is great practice for detailed pencil strokes, so golden browns and deep oranges would suit it, with a glowing yellow-orange for the sun. Free to print, and a good pick for kids who love wild animals and busy scenes with lots of small things to color. Fans of Lion coloring pages often like Bat and Cow as well.

- 3Color the open mouth with coral pink and the lion's chin and ear with cream.
- 4Paint the big sun and the savanna ground with light yellow and warm yellow, and the grass and bushes with lime green and olive green.
- 5Color the rock with light gray, leaving a few white cracks and highlights, and add medium gray to the elephant and the distant hills in sky blue.
- 6Optional: Add a little dark brown shading to the underside of the mane and the lion's body for depth.
