Cherry Blossom Picnic With a Doraemon-Style Robot Kitten
Coloring guide
Under a blooming cherry blossom tree, a smiling cat with big sparkly eyes sits on a checkered picnic blanket. Round headphones cover its ears, a striped scarf hangs around its neck, and the panels, joints and striped tail give it a bit of a robot look. Petals float down everywhere. On one side is a round teapot decorated with small flowers, and on the other a woven basket of triangle onigiri rice balls wrapped in seaweed. Tufts of grass peek in along the edges. Chunky crayons work well on the wide petals, thick outlines and simple blanket squares. Soft pink for the blossoms and petals plus bright teal for the scarf and headphones would make the kitten pop. Print it at home for class time or a rainy day. More like this: explore the Doraemon, Shimmer and Shine and Puppy Dog Pals coloring page collections.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cat areas: fill the face, ears, arms, body and tail with tabby orange, leaving the chest, paws and the white patches around the eyes and muzzle untouched.
- 2Color the cherry blossom petals and the falling petals in blossom pink, adding rose pink to the inner ears and a coral pink tongue on the cat.
- 3Fill the tree branch and trunk with warm brown, then color the picnic mat with pale pink and the basket with caramel.
- 4Add the headphones and scarf in sky blue and pale blue stripes, then color the teapot in lemon yellow and the rice balls in cream, keeping their small white highlights clean.
- 5Finish the green cloth and grass in sage green and pale green, then leave the white background as it is.
- 6Optional: add a little tangerine or burnt orange shading along the cat's tail and under the basket for a bit more depth.
