Proud Rooster with Swirled Tail in Woven Mandala

A tall rooster stands in profile facing right, with its head raised, beak open, and a curled comb on top. Its long tail sweeps up and back in big curved feathers filled with swirls, dots, and layered lines. The body has smaller scale-like feathers on the wing and fluffy, wispy lines along the chest. Behind the bird, a ring of blooming flowers and leaves fills the circle, and a thick woven basket-style border wraps around the outside edge. The tail is a great spot to practice shading. Try picking three or four colors and blending them from dark to light along each feather, then keep the flowers soft so the rooster stands out. Fine tip markers or sharp colored pencils work well for the small patterns. This free printable suits older kids, teens, and adults who enjoy detailed pages.
