Rowing the Swan Boat: Nella the Princess Knight Page
Coloring guide
In a feathered cap and knight-style tunic, a smiling girl sits in a little wooden rowboat and holds a long paddle as she glides over a calm pond. Her long braid hangs over one shoulder and a fleur-de-lis shield emblem decorates her chest. The front of the boat curves up into a graceful swan wearing a small crown. Three little ducks float close by, and lily pads and water lilies dot the water. On the far side of the lake, a castle with pointed towers and flags sits on a hill, with a winding path up to its gate and bushy trees and reeds along the shore. Soft pinks and purples would suit the knight's cape, and bright sunny yellow the swan's beak and crown. Print or download it free for a quiet, creative moment. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the lake and sky: color the water and sky areas sky blue, and fill the grassy bushes and hills with leaf green and grass green.
- 2Color the boat with caramel brown on the outside and chestnut brown on the inside, then add the paddle shaft in the same caramel brown.
- 3Fill the princess's hair with golden yellow, her skin with skin peach, and the castle roofs with tomato red and the walls with light gray.
- 4Color the princess's outfit: royal purple for the hat and cape, lilac purple for the dress, and coral pink for the feather, tunic and hat band.
- 5Add the swan's golden yellow beak and crown, keep the swan body white, and finish the ducks and lily pads with grass green and light pink flowers.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading to the boat and cape with a darker shade of each color to make the drawing look more dimensional.
