Sandcastle Flags and Seashells, Summer at the Water's Edge

Right at the water's edge stands a tall sandcastle with three pointed towers, and each tower has a waving flag on top. Look for crenellated walls, arched windows and a big striped arched gate, plus little dots across the sand for texture. A round pail with a handle leans next to the gate, and a small shovel stands upright nearby. Along the bottom you'll spot a scallop shell, a spiral shell, a small fan-shaped shell and a starfish. Behind the castle, wavy lines make up the ocean, and two puffy clouds drift overhead. Sandy yellows and tans suit the castle, and a red pail with a blue shovel will pop against the water. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the castle walls, towers, and the sand mounds in sand yellow, leaving the foam highlights along the water white.
- 2Fill the three pointed roofs in tomato red and the three flags in lemon yellow.
- 3Color the sea behind the castle and the wave lines with ocean blue and pale blue, then fill the two clouds with pale sky blue.
- 4Color the bucket and its handle in ocean blue, the shovel blade and handle in grass green and sand yellow, and the arched door with warm brown stripes.
- 5Color the scallop shells in light pink, the conch shell in lavender, the small shell in peach, and the starfish in tangerine orange.
- 6Optional: Add a few small darker strokes of sand yellow or warm brown on the castle walls for a little texture.
