Santa Claus Leaning Out a Snowy Cottage Window to Wave
Coloring guide
From a cozy cottage window, Santa leans out and waves, with heart-decorated shutters on each side. String lights drape the snow-covered roof, and a tall brick chimney sends up a big curl of smoke. A wreath with a big bow hangs on the front door, with lanterns glowing on both sides. Out in the yard, a snowman in a top hat and scarf stands near a snowy fir tree, and a candy cane fence trimmed with garlands and bows runs along the stepping-stone path. A bird perches on a birdhouse, a polar bear walks near the mountains in the distance, and stars fill the sky. With so many small details, this free printable is great for patient colorers. Red and white stripes on the candy canes look sweet, and a deep green wreath will pop against the wooden door. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big cabin walls, the door and the wall boards in caramel orange, then fill the stone steps and stepping stones in stone gray.
- 2Color the window shutters, the heart shapes and the green bushes and pine trees with forest green.
- 3Paint the sky clouds and the lake in light blue, the mountains in ocean blue, and add pale aqua to the mountain caps and the small bird.
- 4Use chestnut brown for the polar bear, dark brown for the roof trim and gable boards, and warm gray for the window sill.
- 5Add bright red to Santa's sleeve, the red ornament and the bow, and olive khaki to the ribbon bows on the wreath and garland.
- 6Optional: Leave the snow, Santa's beard, the roof snow and the snowman white, and finish with charcoal black on the snowman's hat for a crisp look.
