Scoop the backhoe loader faces us with a big grin of grille teeth and two sleepy, round eyes. His front bucket is lowered onto a patch of paving stones, and a little post stands at the end of the path. The cab has a small light on the roof, a tall exhaust pipe, and the digging arm folded up behind. On the right, Spud the scarecrow peeks over a fluffy bush with a pointed nose, a tiny hat, and a scarf around his neck. A daisy-like flower sits beside the bush, and rolling hills with curved lines fill the background. Try coloring each paving stone a slightly different shade of grey or red to practice staying inside small shapes. You can also ask kids to count the tire bolts and the grille bars.
