Seashells and Flip Flops: Summer Beach Treasures
Coloring guide
In the middle of the page sits a pair of flip-flop sandals, side by side, each with a little five-petal flower on the strap. Around them are beach finds: a big scallop shell and a spiral conch shell along the top, a smaller ribbed shell on the right, a starfish with dotted arms in the lower left, a sand dollar at the bottom, and another spiral shell in the lower right. Wavy lines and scattered dots hint at rippled sand behind everything. Large shapes and bold outlines make this free printable a good pick for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Turquoise straps with sunny yellow flower centers look fun, with soft pinks and tans on the shells and warm orange on the starfish. This fits right in with our Summer coloring pages — see also Fall and Back to School.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring both flip-flop bodies coral pink, leaving the flower petals white.
- 2Fill the straps and the flower centers with golden yellow.
- 3Color the starfish and all the scallop shells orange, following the ridges of each shell.
- 4Color the large conch shell and its middle whorl light lavender, then fill the inner opening deep purple and the small top shell lavender purple.
- 5Color the spiral shells mint green and teal green, the small scallop shells sky blue, and the sand dollar cream.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the edges of the flip-flops and shells to make them look more three-dimensional.
