Popcorn Headband Shoppies Doll in Striped Dress
Coloring guide
Waving hello with one hand while the other arm rests at her side, this smiling doll has big sparkly eyes. Her headband is topped with a fluffy popcorn-style bundle, and her bobbed hair has side bangs and curly loops around her face. She wears a striped halter top with a beaded neckline, a flower-topped bow at the waist and a layered skirt with a scalloped ruffled hem. Her sneakers have bows and round side details. Nothing is drawn behind her, so a young colorist can concentrate on the doll. Wide stripes and skirt layers are quick to fill in, while the curls give older kids a bit more to work on. Buttery yellow and white would look good on the popcorn, with soft pink or turquoise for the skirt. Print this sheet at home for a classroom project or weekend craft. - golden yellow
- light peach
- sky blue
- coral pink
- ocean blue
- blush pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the face, neck, arms and legs with light peach, leaving the two eye shines white.
- 2Color the big curly hair, the top hair and the forehead area with golden yellow, keeping the popcorn puffs in the hair white for now.
- 3Use sky blue for the skirt and the blue popcorn bits, and add ocean blue to the dark bow on the skirt for a bit of contrast.
- 4Color the pink stripes on the top, the sleeves, the neck dots, the shoe accents and the popcorn box with coral pink, and add blush pink to the light popcorn tips.
- 5Leave the bodice white stripes, the skirt hem ruffle, the shoe laces, the popcorn puffs and the background white.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of a slightly darker shade along the skirt folds and the hair curls to give them depth.
