Rose Pigtails Shoppies Doll with Petal Skirt
Coloring guide
Facing forward with a friendly smile, this big-eyed Shoppies-style doll holds her arms out wide. Her curly pigtails have a large rose tucked in on one side, and a big leafy bow rests on top of her head. The overall-style top is decorated with small roses and has a swirl emblem on the chest. Her puffy skirt is made of rounded petal shapes. Vines wind up her legs, leafy cuffs circle her wrists, and her chunky polka dot boots have tiny roses at the ankles. The page has no background, so there's nothing to distract from the details. Soft pinks and reds would look lovely on the roses, with fresh greens for the leaves and vines and a bold pop of color on the boots. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the face, neck, arms and hands in peach skin, leaving the eye whites, the small smile and the highlight on the forehead white.
- 2Color the big hair areas in bright pink and the bow loops and center in hot pink, then add the pale blush pink bow band and rose pink ribbon.
- 3Fill the hair streaks with aqua blue, soft sky blue and lavender purple, alternating colors so the hair looks swirly and bright.
- 4Color the dress in lavender purple on the vest, then add the blush pink and bright pink petal skirt and the aqua blue legs.
- 5Use hot pink for the polka-dot boots and fill the pink rose with periwinkle blue leaves, keeping the centers white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along one side of the hair, legs and skirt petals to make the drawing pop.
