Sleepy Seal Pup Curled Up on a Rock with a Starfish

Coloring guide
A drowsy baby seal rests its chin on its flippers with eyes shut and a little smile, in a soft, simple scene. The pup is curled on a big rounded rock and has a small tuft of fur on its head, whiskers on both sides of its snout and tiny dots on its cheeks. At the bottom left of the rock, a starfish with small circles and dots sits close by. Thick outlines and big open areas help preschoolers and kids still working on pencil control, and the calm mood is nice for quiet time. Silvery gray or warm brown works for the seal's body, and a bright orange or coral starfish will stand out against the rock. This free printable is easy to print at home or school. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- light gray
- soft teal
- orange
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the big rock underneath the seal with soft teal, including the small patch peeking out between the flippers and the area behind the starfish.
- 2Color the whole seal, including its head, body, both flippers and the cheek area, with light gray.
- 3Fill the starfish with orange, covering every arm so the spots stay easy to see.
- 4Leave the eyes closed lines, nose, whisker lines and the little dots on the face as they are, since they are drawn in dark lines on the white paper.
- 5Optional: Add a little light gray shading along the bottom of the seal body and flippers, and a few darker strokes on the rock, to make the page look more rounded.
