Sleepy Frog Resting Under the Moon and Fireflies

Curled up on a big lily pad with its eyes closed and a gentle smile, this sleepy frog rests its chin on its front paws. The round spots on its back are fun to color in. A crescent moon hangs in the night sky above, along with three small stars, and three smiling fireflies with glowing tails flutter nearby. Tall cattail leaves stand on both sides of the pond, and two smaller lily pads float on rippling water at the bottom. Bold, clear lines and big shapes make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the moon, the stars, and the bee and firefly bodies with golden yellow, leaving the bee and firefly wings for later.
- 2Fill the bee and firefly wings with sky blue, and color the top of each bee's stripes with golden yellow.
- 3Color the frog's head, back, legs and arms with lime green, then add light yellow green to the belly and front paws.
- 4Fill the spots on the frog's back with forest green, and color the large lily pad and the grass blades with forest green and grass green.
- 5Color the two small lily pads at the bottom with grass green, then leave the background white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker green along the bottom edge of the frog and the lily pad to make them look a bit more rounded.
