A tabby kitten with closed eyes and a tiny smile is napping in a chunky woven basket, one paw hanging over the rim and the other tucked under its chin. Soft stripes mark its forehead, cheeks and curled tail, and a fluffy pillow is propped up behind. A blanket spills over the front of the basket, finished with rope-style trim and a neat basket-weave pattern underneath. At the very bottom there's an empty scalloped oval mat, just right for a name or a little drawing of your own. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the cat's head and body with tangerine orange, leaving the small paws for later.
- 2Fill the pillow and the blanket with sky blue, including the folds hanging over the front of the basket.
- 3Color the basket weave with wicker tan, then add caramel brown to the twisted rim and darker weave lines to give it texture.
- 4Add burnt orange stripes on the head, back, and tail, and use honey yellow on the cheeks for a soft glow.
- 5Color the inner ears coral pink, the paws cream white, the rug golden yellow, and its scalloped edge pale yellow.
- 6Optional: add a little darker orange along the cat's belly and under the paws to make the sleepy kitten look more rounded.
