Sleepy Bear Dreaming of Apples Under a Tree

Coloring guide
A sleepy teddy-style bear sits on the grass with its back against a big tree trunk, eyes closed and a small smile on its face. Above its head floats a cloud-shaped thought bubble with one large apple inside, so you can tell what the bear is dreaming about. Three apples hang among the leaves up in the branches, and two more rest on the ground in the bottom corners. Tufts of grass and rounded bushes fill the background. Round ears, a chubby belly and big paw pads leave little hands lots of space to color. Warm golden brown suits the bear and the trunk, bright red the apples, and soft greens the leaves and grass. This free printable is a calm pick for quiet time, bedtime themes or a fall lesson. If you enjoyed this Apple page, don't miss our For Girls and For Kids coloring pages.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the apples: color the top-left, top-center, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right and the apple in the thought bubble in apple red, then add the leaves in lime green and forest green.
- 2Color the bear's head, body, arms, back leg and both feet in caramel brown, leaving the inner ears in light peach.
- 3Fill the bear's muzzle with cream and the foot pads and toe pads with dark brown, keeping the small highlights on the pads white.
- 4Color the tree branches and the thought bubble dot area with chocolate brown for the branches, and leave the tree trunk and the thought cloud white.
- 5Add the grass tufts in forest green and the center leaf in yellow green to finish the scene.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the bottom of the bear and apples with a slightly deeper tone of the same color for depth.
