Sleepy Kitten Watches Over a Little Car in the Garage
Coloring guide
An open garage holds a cheerful little car parked nose-forward, and on a wooden shelf behind it a striped kitten sleeps curled up with its eyes closed. The car has round headlights, a smiling grille, a round badge, a license plate and two seats you can see through the windshield. A stack of tires sits on the right, a wrench hangs from a wall hook, and a toolbox rests on the floor at the bottom left. The roller door is rolled up beneath a peaked roof. The shapes are big and clear, which suits preschoolers and early elementary kids. A bright red or sky blue car looks good with orange stripes on the kitten, and metallic gray is a fun pick for the wrench and tires. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background areas: color the walls and the floor corner in cream beige, and the roof and garage posts in tan.
- 2Fill the garage door panels and slats with sky blue, leaving the thin gaps between slats as they are.
- 3Color the car body and roof in bright red, then add the mirrors and fog lights in the same red and golden orange for the lights.
- 4Shade the cat and its shelf: use golden orange for the cat, leave the white paws and muzzle white, and color the shelf and brackets in warm brown.
- 5Finish with the details: color the toolbox bright blue, the tires and seats charcoal gray, the wrench light gray, and leave the headlights and license plate white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the lower edges of the car and tires to make them look more rounded.
