Schoolgirl Cycling Down a Tree-Lined Street in Anime Style
Coloring guide
With a side ponytail blowing back, a cheerful schoolgirl pedals her bicycle down a quiet road, grinning with wide, sparkling eyes. Her sailor-style uniform has a big bow, short sleeves and a pleated skirt, and she wears knee socks, buckled shoes and a backpack on her shoulders. A woven basket sits on the front of the bike. Leafy trees and rounded bushes line the path, and a small house with a fenced sidewalk shows up in the distance. The big uniform bow, skirt pleats and basket weave give kids plenty to color, and the open road and trees are good for broader strokes. A navy uniform, a bright red bow and fresh green leaves bring out the spring-morning feel. Download the free PDF for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big leafy areas: fill the tree leaves and bushes on both sides of the street with grass green, then use forest green for the darker bushes and grass at the edges.
- 2Color the tree trunks, the girl's hair and the tree branch with light brown, leaving the bright white highlights in her hair untouched.
- 3Fill the house roof with slate blue, then color the skirt and the sailor collar with navy blue, keeping the white sailor top, sleeves and socks white.
- 4Paint the skin areas peach: face, neck, arms, hands and legs. Make the bow at the collar bright red.
- 5Color the backpack and its strap hot pink, the bike frame, fender and handlebar parts light pink, and the basket tan.
- 6Optional: Color the wheels, rims and handlebar with silver gray, and the shoes with dark brown. Leave the sky and background white for a bright, airy finish.
