Baby Chameleon Sitting on a Leaf Under the Sun

Coloring guide
A little chameleon with huge round eyes and an open, happy smile sits on a large leaf, and a simple sun is drawn in the upper right corner. The tail curls into a spiral on the left. Small bumps run along the head crest and back, stripes mark the body, and the toes spread over the edge of the leaf. The leaf has a bold center vein with smaller curved veins branching off, so there's plenty to fill in. Thick outlines and large shapes make this free printable PDF friendly for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Lime green makes a fun body color, with a different shade on each stripe and an orange or purple swirl on the tail. Finish with a sunny yellow sun. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the chameleon's head, body, arm and back leg in light green, leaving the eye whites and the belly highlight untouched.
- 2Fill the big leaf and the leaf edges under the chameleon with leaf green, keeping the chameleon's feet and body clear.
- 3Color the open mouth in coral pink and the tongue inside it in dark red.
- 4Add the orange stripes along the back and across the curled tail.
- 5Color the crest spikes along the back and the sun with its rays in golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker green along the edges of the leaf and under the chameleon for depth, and leave the eye shines white.
