A happy baby sea turtle is swimming along with big sparkly eyes and an open smile. The shell is drawn in large hexagon-style sections, and each of the four flippers has small oval spots waiting for color. Down near the bottom right, a little striped fish swims by, and wavy lines along the lower edge show the water. Round bubbles in a few different sizes drift up near the turtle's head. Thick, clean outlines make it easy for young children to stay inside the lines, and the shell sections and flipper dots give older kids some smaller bits to work on. Green and brown shades would suit the shell, with a lighter green on the flippers. The fish could be orange with bright stripes so it pops against blue waves. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the turtle's head, body, and all four flippers with lime green, leaving the two big eye whites white.
- 2Fill the top shell and its plates with dark green, then color the shell rim edge in lime green and the belly in pale yellow.
- 3Color the little fish's body with vivid orange, its stripes with golden yellow, its tail with tangerine, and its top fin with amber orange.
- 4Add the smile's tongue in coral pink and place dark green dots on the flippers.
- 5Fill the bubbles with light blue and the waves with ocean blue, leaving some white space between the wave lines.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the edges of the shell and flippers for a bit of depth.
