Bee Buzzing Above a Big Daisy in the Garden

A cheerful little bee hovers just above a large daisy on this free printable page. It has big sparkling eyes, a happy open-mouth smile, two curly antennae and a round striped body with a pointed stinger at the back. Its four rounded wings have simple line details that are easy to fill in. Below, the daisy has broad petals around a bumpy center dotted with little circles. It rises on a long stem with two closed buds and a single leaf on the right. Shapes are large and outlines are bold, a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control. Bright yellow and soft black stripes suit the bee, and pink or purple petals will make it stand out against the flower. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big daisy petals and the bottom petal with soft pink, leaving the flower center for later.
- 2Color the flower center and the bee's head, body stripes and antenna tips golden yellow, and use mustard yellow for the lower part of the bee's body.
- 3Paint the bee's four wings with sky blue, then color the thin stinger at the back of the bee chocolate brown.
- 4Use leaf green for the long leaf, the stem and the small green sepals under the buds.
- 5Color the three flower buds with hot pink so they stand out a little from the petals.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of soft pink or hot pink along the petal edges for depth, and leave the bee's eye whites and small shine spots white.
