Sun Hat Girl Hugging a Pumpkin in the Garden
Coloring guide
A smiling girl in a wide-brimmed sun hat with a bow strolls through a pumpkin patch, holding a big ribbed pumpkin in both arms. She wears overalls over a long-sleeved shirt and tall rubber boots, and her long hair falls past her shoulders. Near her you'll see a large pumpkin with a curly stem, two smaller pumpkins in the lower corner and a woven basket filled with little pumpkins and a leaf. Curling vines, big maple-style leaves and a wooden fence with tufts of grass fill the background. There are plenty of shapes to work on, from chunky pumpkin segments to the basket weave. Bright orange pumpkins, deep green vines and leaves and a sunny yellow hat would look great. It's a free download, so print a few extra copies. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the pumpkins: fill the large pumpkins on the left, the held pumpkin, the basket pumpkins and the small pumpkin with pumpkin orange, along with the orange sleeves.
- 2Color the jeans and overalls with denim blue, then fill the rolled jeans cuffs with sky blue.
- 3Use golden yellow for the sun hat and rain boots, and red for the bow and the band around the hat.
- 4Fill the leaves, vines and grass with fresh green, use leaf green for the leaves inside the basket, and add pale yellow to the ground patches.
- 5Color the face and hands with skin peach, the hair with chestnut brown, the basket with tan brown and the fence with wood tan. Leave the fence gap and the swirly vines white. Optional: add a little charcoal gray under the hair for shadow.
