Boy in a Rowboat With a Dolphin Beside Him
Coloring guide
Wearing a life jacket and gripping two oars, a cheerful boy rows a little wooden boat over gentle waves. A smiling dolphin pops up right next to him, water splashing around its body. On a rocky cliff in the background stand a tall lighthouse and a small house, and a couple of puffy clouds float above the horizon line. The boy's short tousled hair, the planks of the boat and the wavy water lines give kids plenty of different areas to fill in, plus some bigger spaces that are easy for small hands. An orange life jacket, a soft blue-gray dolphin and red stripes on the lighthouse would add nice contrast. This free page works for ocean-themed lessons or a relaxed afternoon. Looking for more? - 1Color the water and ripples with sky blue and ocean blue, leaving the white sky and the horizon line uncolored.
- 2Fill the boy's skin with skin peach, his hair with dark brown, his shirt with golden yellow, and his life vest with orange.
- 3Color the rowboat with caramel brown and dark brown, then add light wood tan to the oars and the boat's inner edges.
- 4Paint the dolphin dusty blue, its splashes and the small clouds pale sky blue, and the cliffs with light wood tan with grass green on top.
- 5Color the lighthouse cherry red on its middle band, leaving its top and base white, and add the charcoal gray buckle on the vest.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes along the dolphin's belly and the boat's underside to create depth.
