Smiling Camel Under the Bethlehem Star, Jesus / Bible Page

A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• light tan
• pale peach
• leaf green
• bright yellow
• reddish brown
• cool gray
• dark brown
• sky blue
• caramel brown
• pale gold

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start with the star in the sky: fill the big star with bright yellow and leave the thin rays uncolored.
2. 2Color the buildings and the sandy ground with pale peach, then fill the roof edges and the camel's body and head with light tan.
3. 3Use caramel brown for the camel's hump and the palm trunk rings, and reddish brown for the doors and the palm trunk.
4. 4Paint the palm fronds and the bush in leaf green, and fill the windows with sky blue, leaving the small window edges white if you like.
5. 5Color the grey rocks with cool gray and the camel's hooves with dark brown, and add the golden tail tip in pale gold.
6. 6Optional: add a little darker shading under the camel and along the building walls to make the scene feel more solid.
