Soapy Car Wash Fun for a Little Cartoon Car
Coloring guide
In the middle of an automatic car wash sits a cheerful little cartoon car with big round eyes and a wide smile, buried in fluffy piles of suds. Two tall spinning brushes hang from an overhead frame behind it, and a hose sprays water in from the upper right. Bubbles of every size drift around, and there are droplets and puddles on the ground. A big round sponge full of holes sits in the bottom left corner. Bold, clear outlines and large open spaces make this easy for little kids. Sky blue suits the car, pinks and purples can go in the bubbles, and the sponge could be bright yellow. Print it at home for a quick coloring break any time. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red areas: color the car body, roof, hood, and side panels in bright red, leaving the white foam and eye whites uncolored.
- 2Fill the windshield, the large bubbles, and the small water drops with pale sky blue, then add light aqua streaks to the water spray and the drops falling from the hose.
- 3Color the two wash brushes in lemon yellow on top and bottom, and add bright blue to the poles at their tops and bases.
- 4Paint the sponge in golden yellow, then color the tires, mirrors, bumper, and nozzle in charcoal gray or light gray.
- 5Add lemon yellow to the headlights and coral pink to the open mouth, and keep the teeth, eye whites, and fluffy foam highlights white.
- 6Optional: add a little soft red shading along the roof edge and very pale blue on the soapy foam for a bit of depth.
