This little race car has big round eyes and a wide open smile, and it's tilted slightly toward you in the middle of the page. A checkered flag rises up from behind it, and a rear spoiler sticks out on the left. Five outlined stars in different sizes float around the car and the flag. The rounded body, oval headlights, curved windshield and chunky wheels all have thick, clean outlines that are easy to follow. Kids can fill in the checkered flag one square at a time, and the plain white background leaves space for extra drawings of their own. For a real racing look, try a red body, yellow stars and a black and white flag. This free printable works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, at home or at school. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red body of the car, including the front, both sides, the roof, and the spoiler, using bright red.
- 2Fill the windshield and side window with sky blue, leaving the eye whites and the small eye shines white.
- 3Color the charcoal gray wheels and front fender, then add light gray to the wheel centers and front bumper strip.
- 4Use bright yellow for the headlights, the spoiler ends, the wheel rims, the stars, and the top ball of the flag pole.
- 5Color the checkered flag with black and white squares, and fill the flag pole base with amber orange.
- 6Finish with coral pink on the tongue inside the smile, leaving the teeth white. Optional: add a few light pencil lines on the sides of the car for a shaded look.
