This cheerful seaplane has big round eyes and a wide smile, and its two pontoons rest on gentle ripples. It comes with a spinning propeller, a wing across the top, a tail fin and a row of cabin windows along the side. Behind it, a calm lake reaches a shoreline of rocks, bushes and tall pine trees, with snow-capped mountain peaks in the distance. Large, clean shapes make it good for younger kids learning to stay inside the lines, and the scenery gives older children plenty to do too. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the mountains and the sky behind them with cornflower blue, leaving the snowy peaks white.
- 2Fill the tall trees and their tops with forest green, and the bushes along the shore with lime green.
- 3Color the airplane body, wings, nose and tail fin with lemon yellow, keeping the windshield and the eye shines white.
- 4Use bright red for the engine cowl, the stripe along the body, the tail stabilizer, and the tops and front ends of both pontoons.
- 5Color the struts bright blue, the side windows pale sky blue, and the propeller and rocks silver gray.
- 6Optional: add a little charcoal gray shadow under the propeller hub and leave the water and pontoon middles white.
