Halloween Spider Dangling Above Two Little Pumpkins

Coloring guide
This friendly spider hangs from a single thread under a big spiderweb that covers the top of the page. It has sparkly eyes and a wide, happy smile. The round body and head are simple to outline, and the eight long, jointed legs curve out to the sides, so every segment is a cozy little space for color. The web's wide, curved sections are easy for small hands to fill in. Down in the bottom right corner, two small pumpkins with curly vines sit in tufts of grass for a gentle Halloween feel. You could make the spider purple with bright green eyes and give the pumpkins warm orange shades. Print the free PDF for classroom time or a rainy afternoon. This fits right in with our Spider coloring pages — see also Octopus and Panda.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- medium purple
- pale lavender
- lavender
- deep violet
- pumpkin orange
- dark red
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the spider's round body and the tips of its legs with deep violet, leaving the eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the spider's face and most of its legs with lavender.
- 3Color the spider web in a pattern of medium purple and pale lavender sections, following the example, and leave the background white.
- 4Color the two pumpkins with pumpkin orange, keeping the curly vines at the top white.
- 5Color the open smile dark red and keep the eye whites white so the face pops.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of a darker shade on the body and legs to give the spider a bit of depth.
