Smiling Dolphin Leaping Past Seaweed, Starfish and Shell

Smiling Dolphin Leaping Past Seaweed, Starfish and Shell printable coloring page

Coloring guide

A friendly dolphin arches through the air with its head turned to the left, a small round eye and a curved smile on its face. Its tail flukes sweep down at the lower right, and you can see the dorsal fin on its back plus a pair of flippers near its chest. Around it are a few ocean details: a clump of long, leafy seaweed at the bottom left, a starfish dotted with tiny spots and a little star in the center, and a ridged scallop shell in the top right corner. The shapes are large with clean, simple outlines, so they work well for younger kids using chunky crayons. Try coloring the starfish in warm orange and adding extra dots with a marker, then talk about which of these things live on the seafloor and which one swims. This free printable also makes a nice quiet activity for an ocean unit.
