Cheerful Dolphin Swimming With Fish and Starfish

Right in the center of this underwater scene, a dolphin with a big open smile and wide sparkly eyes curves its body and swims upward. Three little fish swim along with it. There's a striped one at the top left, a round striped one on the right, and a slim angelfish with long fins under the dolphin's chin. Bubbles of different sizes float up the page. On the sandy bottom you'll spot branching coral, a spiky sea anemone, tube sponges, tall wavy seaweed, small pebbles and a dotted starfish. Younger kids can handle the large shapes, while the coral and patterns keep older kids busy. Try sky blue and silvery gray on the dolphin, then bright orange and yellow on the striped fish. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whole dolphin body, its flipper and dorsal fin with sky blue, leaving the eye whites and the mouth for later.
- 2Fill the sand strip with pale sand yellow, then color the starfish with bright orange.
- 3Color the seaweed with grass green and lime green, and the coral branches and tube sponges with coral red and amber orange.
- 4Paint the fish: the top left and right fish get lemon yellow bodies with bright orange stripes, and the middle fish gets bubblegum pink with berry magenta stripes.
- 5Add the bubbles in light aqua, the rocks in warm gray, and the sea anemones in grass green, then color the dolphin's mouth soft pink.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of sky blue along the dolphin's belly for a little depth, and keep the eye whites and coral highlights white.
