Dragon Halloween Mask with Striped Horns and a Puff of Smoke

This cheerful dragon face has big round eyes, a wide toothy grin and a little curl of smoke puffing from one nostril. Two curved horns with striped bands sit on top of the head, along with a spiky crest and two small cone-shaped spikes. Large fin-like ears fan out on each side, and a small cloud floats above each horn. Rows of scales run along the cheeks, and a fluffy tuft of fur hangs beneath the chin. Big shapes and clear outlines are easy for small hands, and the face could double as a mask for Halloween crafts. Bright green for the scales and orange or purple for the horns and ear fins would look good. This free printable is a fit for a classroom project or weekend craft. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big dragon face and the thick lower jaw area bright green, leaving the eye whites and the cheek patch white.
- 2Fill the two wings with lemon yellow, then color the horns bright orange, adding the stripes by leaving thin bands of white between them.
- 3Color the scale rows along the cheeks and jaw with lime green, then add pale lime to the lighter scales for a fun two-tone look.
- 4Fill the open mouth with coral red and the inner gums with light orange, leaving the teeth white.
- 5Color the spikes on top of the head soft yellow, and fill the nostrils with forest green.
- 6Finish with the clouds and the puff of smoke in cream, leaving the highlights in the eyes white. Optional: add a little light orange shading along the bottom of the smoke for depth.
