Egg Basket Farmer Girl Inside the Henhouse
Coloring guide
Inside a wooden henhouse, a cheerful girl in a wide-brimmed hat holds up a woven basket full of fresh eggs. She has two long braids, a collared shirt and overalls, and her big smile is hard not to love. Three hens sit on straw nests stacked on wooden shelves at the left. At the right, a tall rooster with a big tail stands on a hay-strewn floor, while fence rails and a puffy cloud show through the open doorway. Basket weave, feathers and straw offer lots of small spots to fill in. Warm golden yellows fit the straw and hat, and browns and creams suit the eggs and hens. - 1Start with the big background areas: fill the sky with sky blue, the bushes with lime green, the tree with forest green and leaf green, and the floor hay with golden yellow.
- 2Color the wooden walls, roof beams, shelves and door in wood brown and dark brown, leaving the hens white.
- 3Fill the girl's face, neck and the eggs with peach, and color the straw hat with golden yellow and its band with cherry red.
- 4Paint the dress and overall bib in denim blue, the sleeves, collar and shirt front in cherry red, and the braids and hair in wood brown.
- 5Color the basket in straw tan, the rooster body in cream with orange neck feathers and a cherry red comb, and its tail in dark teal and deep sea blue.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on the wood and under the hens' nests to add depth, but keep the hens' bodies and eye whites white.
