Up in the Air: Girl Power Pilot in a Propeller Plane
Coloring guide
Grinning from the open cockpit of her propeller plane, this little pilot is having a great ride. She wears a snug flight cap with big goggles on top, a buckled harness, and a long scarf streaming behind her, and her wavy hair blows in the breeze. Both hands grip the steering wheel. The plane has a big spinning propeller, a round nose studded with rivets, curved wings with stripe details, a tail fin, and a little landing wheel underneath. Fluffy clouds fill the sky, and a round sun with pointed rays shines in the top corner. Shapes are big and clear, which suits preschoolers and early elementary kids. A red plane with a yellow scarf looks great against a soft blue sky. Grab the free printable PDF for class time or a rainy day. - 1Color the clouds and the wide sky areas with sky blue, leaving the background between them white.
- 2Fill the airplane's body, upper wing, tail fin and lower wing with bright red, then add orange red on the lower wing stripe.
- 3Color the engine cowl and wing tips golden yellow, and fill the propeller center and rings with bright blue and golden yellow.
- 4Use warm brown for the girl's flight jacket, hair and helmet, caramel brown for the helmet trim, and peach skin for her face and hands.
- 5Color the propeller blades and landing gear with light gray and the wheels with charcoal gray, keeping the goggle highlights white.
- 6Optional: add the sun rays in golden yellow last, and use a slightly darker shade along the bottom edges of the clouds for depth.
