Hedgehog Carrying an Apple Under the Apple Tree

Coloring guide
On all fours, a cheerful hedgehog balances a big apple on its spiky back. It looks off to the side with a happy smile, round ears and a shiny black nose. Lots of short, pointed quills cover its body, which kids who like adding texture with crayons or colored pencils will enjoy. Behind it grows an apple tree with a round leafy top and several apples, next to a small bush. Fallen leaves, grass tufts, another whole apple and an acorn are scattered across the ground. The free printable works nicely for autumn lessons or quiet table time. Warm browns and tans suit the quills, bright red the apples, and a mix of orange and yellow the fallen leaves. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the hedgehog's spiky back and the spines along its body in chestnut brown, leaving small gaps between spine tips for texture.
- 2Fill the hedgehog's head, snout, cheek, belly, ear and feet with cream beige, then color the acorn in golden brown.
- 3Color the big apple on the hedgehog's back and the large apple at the bottom left in tomato red, and fill their leaves and stems in leaf green.
- 4Paint the large bottom maple leaf and the small leaves on the left in golden yellow, and the right and bottom right leaves in warm orange, with the red leaves on the right in tomato red.
- 5Color the bush and the leaves on the tree in leaf green, add the apples hanging from the tree in tomato red, and keep the tree trunk and canopy white as the background.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker brown shading under the spines and along the hedgehog's belly, and leave the eye shine white to make the eyes sparkle.
