Jungle Iguana With a Waterfall and Bird, Reptiles Printable

Coloring guide
A friendly iguana with one big round eye and a smile climbs along a thick tree branch in this detailed jungle scene. A spiky crest runs down its back, and you can spot the dewlap under its chin, a round cheek scale, dotted skin, and a long banded tail curling toward the bottom corner. Up at the upper right, a small bird perches on a vine-draped branch, and in the distance a waterfall spills into a pool among bushes. The foreground is filled with big leaves, hanging vines, a large monstera-style leaf, and hibiscus-type flowers. Lots of small areas make this free printable a good match for kids who like to take their time. Soft greens and yellows could go on the iguana's scales, with bright pinks or reds on the flowers so they stand out from the leaves. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the iguana's body and head: color the head, back, and belly in fresh green and the upper body spots in the same shade, leaving the eye and its shine white.
- 2Fill the iguana's throat, chest, and neck with soft yellow and light lime, then add a light yellow round shoulder patch.
- 3Color the long tail with light lime bands and mint green stripes, and use forest green for the spines along the back and tail.
- 4Paint the thick tree branch in bark brown, then fill the leaves with leaf green and grass green, and the bright red and golden yellow hibiscus flowers.
- 5Color the waterfall and stream in sky blue and turquoise, the rock in warm gray, and the bush and far trees in grass green and leaf green. Leave the bird and background sky white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading under the belly and along the branch edges to make the iguana look more rounded.
