Grinning Jack-o'-Lantern Pumpkin Between Two Fall Leaves

Coloring guide
Right in the middle of this page is a happy jack-o'-lantern. It has two triangle eyes with a round pupil in each, a small triangle nose, and a wide curved smile full of square, blocky teeth. A thick stem sits on top, a curly vine tendril trails off the right side, and smooth rib lines run down the round body. In the bottom corners you'll find two leaves: a pointed maple-style one on the left and a lobed oak-style one on the right. Bold lines and big simple shapes make it a nice pick for little ones just starting out with crayons. Orange works well for the pumpkin, green for the stem and vine, and reds and golds for the leaves. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big pumpkin body, including the ribbed sides and the front panel, in pumpkin orange.
- 2Fill the stem and the top of the stem with warm brown, leaving a little light streak along the stem.
- 3Color the two triangle eyes, the triangle nose, the grinning mouth, and the lower jaw in golden yellow, leaving the tiny round highlights in the eyes white.
- 4Fill both fall leaves at the bottom with golden yellow, keeping the leaf veins as thin uncolored lines.
- 5Color the curly tendril at the top, including its tip, in olive green.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker orange along the sides of the pumpkin for depth, and a touch of extra yellow on the leaves.
