Straight rays of light reach down through the water toward this jellyfish, and wavy lines across the top mark the surface. The jellyfish has big sparkly eyes and a happy open smile, with oval spots on its dome and long wavy tentacles trailing below. Bubbles of different sizes drift on both sides. Near the bottom, four small smiling fish swim together, with tall wavy seaweed on the left and right and rounded rocks along the seafloor. Thick outlines and roomy shapes work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the bubbles and fish give smaller hands quick spots to finish. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the light rays at the top left, top right and sides in light blue, and leave the middle beam white.
- 2Fill the jellyfish bell and its long wavy tentacles in purple, but keep the big eye whites white.
- 3Color the middle tentacle in sky blue so it stands out from the purple ones.
- 4Paint the four little fish in orange and their tails and fins in golden yellow.
- 5Add leaf green seaweed on both sides, sand yellow rocks at the bottom and a gray rock in the middle.
- 6Finish with pink spots on the bell, a pink cheek, a smile and light blue bubbles. Optional: add a little darker shading on the bottom of the bell and the fish for depth.
