Countryside Airplane Ride with Hot Air Balloon and Farms
Coloring guide
Goggles and a flowing scarf mark this cheerful pilot, who grins from the open cockpit of a biplane with its propeller spinning and wheels dangling below. A striped hot air balloon with a woven basket drifts nearby among puffy clouds, and three small birds glide past. The countryside below is full of detail: a cottage with a chimney, a barn with a red roof beside a wooden fence, winding roads, patchy fields with plowed rows and round trees. A little church steeple stands in the distance with hills behind. Big wings and balloon stripes are easy to color, and the farmland gives older kids lots of small areas to fill. Sunny yellow for the biplane and blue and orange stripes on the balloon would look great. This free printable should keep a young aviator busy for a while. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big sky areas: color the sky around the airplane and the distant hills in sky blue, and leave the clouds white.
- 2Color the hot air balloon in alternating panels of red, golden yellow, teal, royal blue, grass green, and cream, leaving the cream stripes and the basket area as shown.
- 3Fill the airplane body and tail in red, paint the upper and lower wings cream, and color the propeller hub cream with the propeller blades in light gray.
- 4Color the countryside: fill the fields with golden yellow, bright green, light brown, and olive green, then add forest green and grass green to the trees and bushes.
- 5Finish the farm details: make the house walls cream, the barn roof light gray, and the winding dirt path apricot. Optional: add a slightly darker edge along the balloon and plane for a little depth.
