This little pot has big round eyes, raised eyebrows and an open smile, and it sits in the grass with a heap of flat round coins piled to the brim. A rainbow with four wide bands arches behind it and ends in small puffy clouds on both sides, and two more clouds float in the top corners. Hoop-shaped handles stick out from either side of the pot, and a few loose coins lie near the tufts of grass. Little hands will manage the wide bands fine, and older kids can take their time on the stacked coins. Golden yellow coins against a deep green pot make the treasure pop. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the rainbow: color the top arc red, the next band amber orange, then leaf green, and the innermost band bright blue.
- 2Fill the three clouds with sky blue, leaving the top left one and the two side clouds as shown.
- 3Color the big pot body dark slate gray and the rim and the area inside the rainbow with medium gray.
- 4Fill the two handles with golden yellow and the coins piled in the pot and on the grass with golden yellow, adding amber orange to some coin edges.
- 5Color the tongue coral pink and leave the eye whites, the teeth, the handle openings and the grass tufts white.
- 6Optional: Add light hatching strokes on the pot in a slightly darker gray for a pencil-sketch look.
