This friendly sports car has big round eyes and a wide grin, and it's leaning into a curve on the track. Racing stripes run over the hood and roof, and there's a large rear spoiler, spoked wheels, oval headlights and a side window to fill in. Striped curbs line the track in the front and along the right side. Behind the car you'll find rolling hills, a row of bushes, two round leafy trees and a couple of puffy clouds. Bold, clean lines make it easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or markers. A sunny yellow or red body with stripes in a contrasting color looks great, with green for the bushes and trees and light blue for the clouds. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whole race car body, hood, rear wing and side panels in tomato red, leaving the white stripes on the hood and roof for later.
- 2Fill the trees, hills, and bushes with leaf green, use dark green for the shadowy bushes, and color the tree trunks warm brown.
- 3Color the road in medium gray and the wide curb edges in light gray, then add bright red and white stripes along the curves.
- 4Color the windshield, headlight rims and the small cloud with sky blue, then fill the wheels and grille vents with charcoal, leaving the wheel hubs light.
- 5Color the open smile with coral pink, keeping the teeth, eye whites, headlight centers and the hood stripes white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of charcoal along the lower edge of the car body for a bit of depth.
