Coloring guide

A large pixel-style rocket takes up the page, and the round porthole in the center shows a smiling face. Every small square on the rocket has a subtraction problem in it, such as 9-5, 7-3 or 10-6. Kids solve the problem and then use the key at the bottom: 1 is red, 2 is orange, 3 is yellow and 4 is blue. Between the stepped nose cone, the side fins and the stacked blocks of the tail, there are lots of little squares to get through. Plus-shaped sparkles float around the rocket on the white background. It suits early elementary kids working on subtraction within 10, and as a free printable it makes a calm math center or a homework warm-up. A soft light blue on the porthole face helps the smile stand out from the warm red, orange and yellow around it. Add this to your Math Pixel Art coloring page collection, alongside Activity Sheets and Alphabet.
