Winter Snake and Snowman in Cozy Scarves

Coloring guide
Coiled in the snow, this cheerful cartoon snake has big sparkly eyes, a tiny forked tongue and a chunky knitted scarf with fringe at the ends. Next to it stands a friendly snowman in a pom-pom beanie and a striped scarf, with a carrot nose, a happy smile, three buttons and twig arms. Two snowy evergreen trees fill the background while snowflakes and round snowballs drift down from above. The knit scarf, the snake's patterned coils and its striped belly give kids lots of small sections to work on, which makes it nice for a quiet winter afternoon. A bright green snake with red and white striped scarves gives a cozy holiday look. This free printable works well for preschoolers and early elementary kids who like animals and snowy scenes. - 1Start with the big areas: fill the snake's body and neck with soft yellow, and the tree shapes with forest green, leaving the snowy tree tops white.
- 2Color the snake's head with pale lime, then add grass green spots on the coil and the belly stripes.
- 3Fill the snowman's scarf with sky blue, and color the hat and its pompom bright red.
- 4Color the snowman's two buttons chestnut brown and the carrot nose orange.
- 5Add a few forest green spots on the snake's coil, and keep the snowman's body, the snow ground, and the snake's eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading on one side of the snake and the scarf for depth.
