Desert Snake Beside a Flowering Cactus
Coloring guide
Coiled in the sand with its head raised, this friendly cartoon snake has big round eyes, a cheerful smile and a small forked tongue poking out. Curved belly stripes and large blotchy patches give kids lots of different sections to color. A tall cactus with two curved arms stands behind it, each arm topped with a flower and one more small flower on the very top. Rolling desert hills fill the background under a big sun with rays, and small rocks, pebbles and spiky grass tufts dot the ground. Green and yellow patches on the snake look good next to pink or red cactus flowers. The outlines are bold and clear, which works well with crayons and markers for preschoolers and early elementary kids. It's free to print. Add this to your Snake coloring page collection, alongside Puppies and Cats.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the sand dunes, the snake's head, neck and belly stripes with sandy yellow, leaving the eye whites and the tongue white.
- 2Color the sun with bright yellow, a simple circle with rays is all you need.
- 3Color the cactus trunk and both arms grass green, keeping the thin highlight stripe on the left arm white, then fill the flowers with hot pink.
- 4Color the snake's main coils and body with grass green, then add dark green spots across the coils and tail.
- 5Color the rocks and small pebbles stone gray so they stand out against the sand.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker shade of each color along one side of the snake and cactus to give them a bit of depth.
