Spider Dangling from a Leafy Branch

Coloring guide
This cartoon spider hangs from one thread tied to a tree branch, with sparkly round eyes and a big smile. Stripes split up its rounded body, and eight chunky, curved legs stick out on both sides, leaving roomy spaces for small hands. Up top, the branch carries three large leaves with bold center veins, one on the left and two on the right. Thick outlines and simple shapes make it a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids working on staying inside the lines. Bright orange or purple looks great on the striped back, and soft greens for the leaves help the spider stand out. Print it free for a quiet afternoon, a classroom bug unit, or a Halloween activity that isn't too spooky. This page is part of our Spider coloring pages collection — check out Ghost and Bat too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the spider's round head and the top and bottom bands of its round body warm orange, keeping the eye whites white.
- 2Fill the stripe across the middle of the body and all eight legs with soft purple, using smooth strokes that follow the leg shapes.
- 3Color both leaves leaf green, leaving the branch and the hanging thread white.
- 4Fill the smiling mouth with soft pink, leaving a small white gap near the top for a bit of shine.
- 5Color the eye pupils solid black and leave the small white shine spots and the eye whites untouched.
- 6Optional: Add a slightly darker shade of orange along the bottom edge of the body and a lighter touch of green on the leaves for depth.
