Coloring guide
This color by number page has a round, cheerful sun right in the middle, with big sparkly eyes and an open smile. Eight rectangular rays circle its face and each is marked 2, and the center of the sun is marked 1. A curved grassy hill sits underneath, numbered 3 and dotted with three little tufts of grass. The sky around the sun is labeled 4 in each of the four corners. There are just four numbers to keep track of, so it's gentle for beginners, and the wide open spaces also appeal to older kids who enjoy tidy, relaxing coloring. Yellow for the face, orange for the rays, green for the hill and light blue for the sky would look great. The PDF is free and prints at home, no sign-up needed. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the round sun face in golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and the eyebrow lines uncolored.
- 2Fill the top, left and right rays in tangerine orange, then color the remaining rays in light orange.
- 3Color the open mouth in cherry red, then add the tongue in coral pink at the bottom of the mouth.
- 4Keep the eye whites white so the eyes stay bright and friendly.
- 5Optional: Add a little extra pressure or a second layer of color in the center of the sun to give it a warmer glow.
