This cheerful teddy bear sits straight up with its round paw-pad feet facing us, holding a large heart against its tummy. It has big shiny eyes, a little tuft of hair on top, round ears with inner details, a smiling muzzle and a tiny heart-shaped nose. Four small hearts drift around the bear, two up near the top corners and two next to the face. The big empty heart in the center is just waiting for a handwritten thank-you, so the page makes a nice card front for a teacher, grandparent or friend. Honey brown for the bear and red or pink for the big heart would look great, with softer shades on the little hearts. The thick, clear outlines help younger kids stay inside the lines. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big heart in the bear's arms and the four small hearts around the bear in coral pink.
- 2Fill the head, neck, belly, arms, paws and both feet with warm caramel brown, leaving the ear insides for later.
- 3Color the muzzle, both ear insides and all the foot pads in soft cream so they stand out against the brown fur.
- 4Fill the nose with dark brown, then add the smile line and eyes with a dark pen or pencil.
- 5Leave the small eye shine spots white so the eyes look bright and friendly.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker brown along the edges of the head and feet for a gentle shadow effect.
